Rice's View of the Bush Legacy

Condoleezza Rice thinks that people are going to "thank" Bush for what he has done.

That sound you hear? That's the crickets chirping.

Let's see, he presided over...

the worst foreign attack on American soil since Pearl Harbor,
the failure to catch the primary culprit for said attack,
the authorization to defy the Geneva Conventions and permit torture,
the botched invasion of Iraq on trumped up evidence of non-existent WMDs,
the comically inept response to Hurricane Katrina,
and the biggest financial meltdown since the Great Depression.

But, I'm sure that other than these minor things, people will be thanking Bush. I'm not sure for what, but no doubt they will.

the only thing funnier than rice making such a statement is rove saying it. come on karl, you stupid fat wanker. you should be thrown in jail for contempt of congress. you can be thankful for bush (since he is keeping you out of jail), but no one else is or SHOULD be.

I'm really surprised that the torch was passed today without a bunch of preemptive pardons being handed out. I suppose, though, that since Bush thinks that his administration did nothing wrong or illegal, there was no need to do so.

Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld should probably be careful about overseas travel. An arrest for war crimes might greet them somewhere. Wouldn't that be tragic?
