This is why gun safety classes are important. Not that they are a cure all by any means, but they do teach you not to shoot blindly at things. Maybe it could have prevented this tragedy.

The answer to this problem is clear- massive gun control. Who told that guy he could own a gun, anyway...
Wrong! Clearly the answer is for everyone to have a gun. If the wife had been armed, she could have shot him first and so saved her own life.
